Crutes Law Firm in association with Crown Office Chambers, Marsh Ltd and Zurich,
invite you to a seminar which will look at significant changes to the
law relating to corporate manslaughter and corporate homicide Act which
came into force on 6 April 2008.
At this seminar you will receive practical
and proactive advice on the steps and precautions to take to prevent
this new act being
the death
of your company. There will also be a mock trial which will allow
delegates the chance to witness what they could face should the
inevitable happen.
With the threat of an unlimited fine and damage to a company’s
reputation this seminar is a must. The potential effects on your business
will
be the focus of this seminar, providing you with a practical
guide to the
new legislation.
Our health and safety team are highly recognised as being experts
in this field. In a recent landmark case, Crutes represented a
borough council in a case in which important guidelines on the
level of fines
for health
and safety breaches were made.
This is a rare opportunity to hear first hand from market
leading key specialists who have a number of years' experience, including
Simon
Antrobus who is recommended by Legal 500 as being a Leader at
the
Bar in the field
of Health and Safety Law, being described as "unassuming,
very smooth in court and a total star" and having “startling intelligence allied to an amicable personality”. Cases
include the successful representation of a fairground ride owner
in the first manslaughter prosecution in this country relating
to fairground
ride inspections, arising out of a double fatality at Shepherd's
Bush in 1999.
