Jump
in June
On 9 June, six partners and staff did tandem parachute jumps, from 10,000 feet,
for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust. In total we have raised over £3250.
The jumps took place at Peterlee airfield. Each person was given 30 minutes of
training before they were flown 10,000 feet above the clouds to complete
their final stage – free fall from a plane at 120mph…..like a bird in
the sky!!
One of the reasons Crutes decided to support this event
is because some of our staff have experience from relatives of how devastating
the effects MS can be on people’s lives.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common cause of neurological
disability in young adults, affecting 85,000 people in the UK. Everyone
knows the negative images that a diagnosis can conjure up and whilst
no one denies that MS can be devastating, positive steps can be taken
to improve quality of life. MS may be incurable but it is far from untreatable.
The MS Trust is a leading independent UK charity for people
with MS, their families and friends, and for all health and social care
professionals who work with them. They provide information, professional
education and fund practical research into better ways to live with the
condition.
