Ogden - The Wokshop II

After the huge success and over-subscription of our “Ogden – The Workshop” event on 18 April at the London Underwriting Centre, we will be re-running this event on Tuesday 1 May.

Changes to the Ogden Tables are due to be announced on 29 April. Be one of the first to hear how the changes will dramatically effect the level of damages and the impact on reserves. Our guest speaker, Simon Levene, sits on the Ogden Committee (2003). Simon will give a 30 minutes talk explaining the changes and their consequences. Following this will be a three course lunch, deliberation and questions. The cost of this exclusive event is £100 + vat per person. Places are limited.

An example of the impact the changes could make:

• Male, aged 30, scaffolder in the north west, claimant has been out of work for a significant period at time of the accident, no qualifications, will never work again.
• Previously earning £20,000 a year. He is now capable of earning only £10,000 a year, and has not found work three years after the accident.
• “Old Ogden” award: £214,000 + Smith v Manchester.
• “New Ogden” award: £316,757 with no Smith award.
