Stephen's grandfather Richard Rutter Crute founded Crutes in 1907. He has been with the firm since 1976 and became a Partner in 1981.
A graduate of Newcastle University he specialises in litigation. He has acted for many local authorities and major insurers in employer's liability, public liability and road traffic claims.
Stephen is assessor to and a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel and is Chairman of the Forum of Police Defence Lawyers.
