David qualified in 1981 and has been a partner in Crutes since 1986. He was appointed to the position of Chairman in January 2006.
David is an experienced civil litigator who now concentrates on more specialist types of litigation, including professional negligence, stress, bullying and disease claims for insurers and local authorities. He also has extensive experience of managing multi party actions and claims arising out of fraud, arson and the interpretation of policy wording.
He has used mediation regularly since participating in the firm’s first mediation in 1991 and in 2004 successfully used mediation to settle a multi-party stress claim against a local authority.
David is a season ticket holder at Newcastle United and enjoys fell walking and the occasional glass of real ale and red wine.
