City Solicitors Jumping for Joy
Saturday marked the day that six Partners and staff ditched their pinstripe suits in favour of jumpsuits… and threw themselves out of a plane at 10,000 feet.
The six legal eagles from Newcastle law firm, Crutes, were not lamenting falling hourly charge-out rates, but instead were flying high to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.
The legal crew travelled to an airfield in Peterlee, County Durham, to complete tandem sky dives, and so far have raised over £3200 for the Trust.
Crutes Managing Partner, Helen Ager, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to give something back to a charity which holds significance for many of the people that work at Crutes. We have a regular charity programme at the firm, and people are always willing to take part, but this seemed to strike a real chord with a lot of people.”
Crutes hopes to increase its final fundraising figure with additional money raised from a cake bake and coffee morning with the rest of the firm’s 100 staff, when the sky divers are safely back on the ground.
The firm has an active charitable programme and this year has raised funds for various causes including St Oswald’s Hospice, Asthma UK, Leukaemia research, Macmillan Cancer research and Comic Relief.
