Tait Walker secures new premises for its Tees Valley operation

The Tees Valley office of chartered accountants, Tait Walker, has recently announced it will be moving to new premises this summer.

Tait Walker has signed a 15 year lease agreement with law firm, Crutes, to occupy the first floor of Crutes House on Teesdale Business Park. This will provide the accountants with a 3,175 sq ft, floorplate of prime office accommodation.

Tait Walker is one of the region’s largest firms of chartered accountants with three offices in the North East. The Tees Valley office was established in 2000 and since that time has grown significantly and currently employs twelve members of staff.

The move to new premises is part of an ambitious programme for growth which has been gaining momentum with the announcement of a number of new appointments to the team which prides itself on its level of expertise and just as importantly local knowledge.

With the lease agreement signed, preparations are now underway for fit out to Tait Walker’s specifications.

Speaking about the move to new offices, managing partner, David Arthur, said:

“Our present accommodation on Yarm Road has served us well but we have now outgrown the building. The move to the Teesdale Business Park, where a number of other professional firms are located, will reflect more accurately the size and stature of our business. It will also create a better working environment for staff and clients visiting our premises.

The Tees Valley region is benefiting from a range of regeneration schemes which is creating a dynamic business environment contributing to economic growth in the region.

David Arthur continued: “Outside of the international firms we are one of the North East’s largest independent companies and the Tees Valley office has made a significant contribution to that standing. We are continuing to advise a broad range of clients on aspects of corporate finance as well as complex tax-related issues. Other services where we expect to see growth include financial services and forensic accounting.”

Tait Walker has nine partners and 120 members of staff operating from its offices in Stockton, Newcastle and Morpeth. The Newcastle office is a training office for the Chartered Institute and Certified Association and the firm prides itself on staff development, having been an Investor in People since 1995.
