Northern Litigation Expert To Address National Seminar

Tim Wallis, who is Partner and Chairman of leading law firm Crutes, is heading to London next week to address a high profile national seminar on litigation. He will be talking on the subject of fixed fee Litigation.

The event is being held at the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) in London on Thursday January 20 th. CEDR is an independent non-profit organisation set up to encourage and develop mediation in commercial and public sector disputes and civil litigation.

The aim of the Insurance Litigation and Claims Handling seminar is to answer questions concerning latest developments in the sector and outline how service providers can build better value into their businesses. This is an important issue because as claims costs continue to rise, currently at an average of 10% each year, more and more businesses and organisations are being affected.

Tim Wallis joins a select number of national experts in this specialist field who will be addressing the issue. The other speakers are leading specialists in the fields of insurance litigation, mediation and claims handling drawn from around the UK.

Crutes services a diverse UK client base from its offices in Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Carlisle. It has particularly strong links with the public sector and the insurance industry. It has 24 partners and employs 193 staff.

Tim Wallis said: “This is an important issue because many Claims Directors and Mangers are offshoring and outsourcing to combat rising claims cost, but there are other options you can take to revise processes and add greater value for the same claims spend. I believe these are important issues we need to explore further”.
