Middlesbrough Law Firms Merge

 One of the North East’s oldest law firms has merged with one of the region’s biggest to provide a wide range of legal services.
Doberman Horsman of Middlesbrough has joined with Crutes Law firm, which has offices in Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Carlisle.
The new firm combines the staff of Crutes’ Middlesbrough and Dobermans Horsmans’ offices, which are both currently based on Borough Road in the town.
Crutes in Middlesbrough will retain its name, while Doberman Horsman will become Dobermans, a Division of Crutes Law Firm.

The new firm will combine the staff of Crutes’ Middlesbrough and Dobermans. Dobermans currently has two partners, Steve Vickers and Lorraine Thompson, six solicitors, 10 fee earners and 14 support staff. This will bring the number of people working at Crutes to nearly 200 across its three sites in Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Carlisle.
Dobermans work predominantly for private and commercial clients whilst Crutes in Middlesbrough specialises in public sector, commercial and private client work
Initially each office will retain its current site on Middlesbrough’s Borough Road. In 2005 there are plans to merge the two offices with some staff moving to a separate site, while Dobermans will retain a town centre presence at its current site.
