Law Firm Holds Vegas Charity Night

May 2004

ONE of the region’s leading law firms is showing its softer side by raising money for charity.

Crutes Law Firm, which has its headquarters in Newcastle, is co-sponsoring the Age Concern North Tyneside `Las Vegas` Summer Ball which is being held on June 25 at the Menzies Silverlink Hotel at Wallsend.

Guests on the night will enjoy entertainment in the style of “crooners” Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra while raising money for Age Concern North Tyneside through an auction, casino-themed games and raffle.

This is the second year that Crutes has sponsored the event, with last year’s ball raising around £9,000 for the charity.

Stephen Crute, Managing Partner at Crutes, said: “Following the success of last year’s event, Crutes Law Firm is again proud to sponsor the Age Concern North Tyneside Summer Ball. This year we have a thrilling Las Vegas Casino theme, complete with surprise guest, four-course meal, an auction, raffle and great entertainment.

“All we ask is that you come along and enjoy yourselves as we host another evening to remember. It’s a great opportunity to entertain family, friends or clients and demonstrate corporate social responsibility by supporting a charity whose work with older people potentially benefits every one of us.”

Alma Caldwell, Chief Executive of Age Concern North Tyneside, said: “We are proud of the work we do to promote active, healthy ageing and to support frail, isolated older people in our Community.

“We could not do this without the generosity of our supporters such as Crutes, and we are grateful for their kind sponsorship of the Summer Ball which will raise vital funds for the charity.”

Around 200 people are expected to attend and tickets are selling very quickly. Tickets cost £48.00 per person or tables of ten are available for £480 per table, including a four-course meal. Anyone wanting tickets or seeking to donate prizes for raffle or auction should contact Heather Thompson at Age Concern North Tyneside on 0191 280 8484
